ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR BDS
There are certain eligibility criteria for the students who want to take admission in Dental course.
Qualification : Candidates should have minimum 50 % marks in 12 class(physics,chemistry,biology) from any recognized board,can take admission in Bachelor of Dental Science(BDS).
Marks obtained in Mathematics are not to be considered for admission in B.D.S course.And candidates should also appear in the Common Entrance Examination conducted by most of the states for admitting students to the BDS course in Government /Private dental colleges.
Candidate should have certain documents at the time of admission in BDS course.
- 10 class mark sheet
- 10 class certificate
- 12 class mark sheet & certificate
- Migration certificate
- Transfer certificate
- Admit card of any medical entrance exam(UP-CAT/CPMT etc)
Age Limit :- For BDS admission minimum age limit fixed by the DCI is 17 years and maximum age limit is 35 years for admission in BDS course .The DCI has decided that there should not be minimum or maximum age limit for admission in BDS course.
Category - candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40 % instead of 50 % as above and must have passing marks in English.
In case of admission on the basis of competitive entrance examination candidate must have passed in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually with 50 %. And the candidates who belongs Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes etc must have 40 % instead of 50 % in competitive exam.
